Klarifikasi ENergy SaverThe vigorous promotion of Energy Saver products that include the jargon "Passing the BPPT Test" in the last three months has made the National Laboratory for Energy Conversion Technology (B2TKE) as the technical unit that conducts product testing need to clarify.

Wednesday (July 18), accompanied by representatives of the BPPT's Bureau of Legal Affairs, Cooperation, and Public Relations, B2TKE invited the producers and marketing parties of Energy Saver products to clarify their statements.

"(Jargon) Passing the BPPT Test and saving energy a few percent is the words of advertising, for marketing strategies. Actually this product (Energy Saver) is a capacitor bank", said Kuswara, Director of CV Indoteknika Azzilan as the producer and brand owner of a number of Energy Saver products. "There are Double Power, Mutiara Saver, King Saver, and those currently being discussed are ENTER Indonesia. The working principle of all power savers are the same, system of capacitors", he continued.

Uji ESP YTLNational Laboratory for Energy Conversion Technology (B2TKE) through the Emission Testing Laboratory (LPE = Laboratorium Pengujian Emisi) performs performance testing for Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) at Paiton Power Plant Unit 5 and 6 of PT YTL East Java.

Led by the LPE Supervisor, Taopik Hidayat, the data retrieval of the testing was carried out by the LPE team at the site on July 9-13 2018. "Testing is carried out at a 600 MW load with simultaneous measurements on ESP inlets and outlets", Taopik said.

Performance of particulate capture efficiency on ESP will be obtained as an evaluation of coal combustion performance in the boiler and also the performance of ESP components. The efficiency of ESP expressed in percent isokinetics in the range 90-110% will ensure that PLTU particulate emissions are still in the required quality standard.
